Five Persian Language Podcasts You Don't Want to Miss
One of the best ways to keep in touch with modern Iranian culture is through listening to Persian language podcasts.
Podcasts are also a great way for people that are just learning Persian - or a little rusty after years of living abroad - to improve their language skills & learn the language as it is spoken today.
Here are my favorite podcasts:
1 - BPlus Podcast

Ali Bandari is widely considered to be the father of Iranian podcasts. He started off with summaries of popular books in Farsi. More recently he's turned into an Iranian Dan Carlin, makings dozens of 45 min - 1 hour long videos about modern Iranian history. His Iran related videos started off with the Safavids and are just now reaching the contemporary era.

Football360 is Adel Ferdowsipour’s media channel for all things relating to Iranian football. In addition to his interviews of major figures and the special programs for different football tournaments, Football360 also has a wonderful podcast that covers new, analysis, rumors and all the ins and outs of Iranian football.
3 - Rokh Podcast

If you love history, you can't miss out on Rokh. This podcast gives in depth biographies of the lives of different famous people - from poets like Ferdowsi & Saadi to different Iranian Shahs.
4 - Azad

Azad is an amazing resource to get exposed to various political currents within Iranian society. It hosts long discussions between different prominent intellectuals - conservative, reformist, barandaz and more - over different issues relating to contemporary Iran .
5 - Tabaghe 16

Soheil Alavi is one of the best known names in Iran's startup scene (who recently moved to Vancouver). This podcast has talks with prominent Iranians in startups or tech. The most interesting episodes for me are the ones about current Iranian startups.
I don’t endorse everything published under each of these & have no affiliation to any of them. However I always encourage people to broaden their horizons and look for interesting new perspectives.
I’d love to hear from you.
